Transportation Air Quality Determination with respect to the 2008 Ozone Standard
Today the Greater Bridgeport and Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization (GBVMPO) is opening the public involvement process, for a two week period, to receive comments on the air quality conformity evaluation of the current 2011 Regional Transportation Plans for the Greater Bridgeport and Valley planning regions and the 2012-2015 Transportation Improvement Program, as amended, with respect to the new 2008 eight-hour ozone standard.

The Valley Council of Governments is responsible for planning
and implementing economic and development activities which have a regional
impact on the Lower Naugatuck Valley in Southwestern Connecticut. These activities
include creating a master plan for the entire region, administering state and
federal grants, transportation planning, Brownfields redevelopment, census
information and aiding in the overall economic development of the region.
